Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
When producing my preliminary task, I again had little knowledge about how conventions within a film could determine what genre your film is. But when it came to filming my final media production I had gained knowledge from my preliminary experience that objects within the mise-en-scene immediately get the genre of the film over to the audience. For example the shot of the gun in my final production tells the audience that the film is going to be action based.
Planning was also something that I had learned from the preliminary task. This is because with the preliminary task I had to plan every shot. Whereas when it came to my final media production, not only did i have to plan every shot but I had to plan costume, props, locations, actors, shot type and more. Again like before all of these things can determine a film's genre all within the opening sequence.
Feedback I received from audiences was also important for the creation of my final media production because when producing a film you are not producing it for yourself you are producing it for other people. So other opinions are very important because you can go back and make these adjustments and make sure the film fits the genre.

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
How did you attract/address your audience?
Who would be the audience for your media product?
4) I think that the audience for my media product would be quite vast. Although there would be some exceptions, for example my film is rated a 15 so the audience cannot not include everyone whereas a PG would. My product also would appeal to both boys and girls because it is an action packed thriller with also a story of romance within it. I think that although the film appeals to all ages above fifthteen the majority of people that would view the film would be aged between fifthteen and thirty. My reasons for this is because after researching other simular films online I found out that this was the majority age of viewers.
What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
3) I think a film distributor like 20th Century Fox would be the kind of institution that would distribute my media product. My reasons for this is because the genre of my film is action and 20th Century Fox have been known to distribute for action films in the past, for example Die Hard, X-Men, and Star Wars. Also with 20th Century Fox being one of the world’s biggest movie studios and distributors there would be a lot of publicity surrounding the film so it will have a massive market for example websites, TV, and radio. So I believe that with 20th Century Fox being the movies distributor it will benefit significantly.
How does your media product represent particular social groups?
2) In my media production it only features one character, and representing him for a particular social group was fairly easy. The reason why this was because for this film I didn’t want to put the character in a certain social group until later on in the film. I think by doing that it adds mystery to the character at the beginning so therefore makes the audience wonder what has made him so depressed.
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
1) In my final production, I’ve used many different generic conventions to immediately get the genre over to the audience. For example in the bedroom scene there were plenty of conventions featured, like the whiskey, gun, news articles and the empty photo frame. All of these suggest that the character is depressed however the gun suggests that the character is looking for revenge and therefore gets the genre of action over.
As for the bathroom scene there is a couple more conventions, these are the pills and photograph of happier times. This again clearly tells the audience that the character is in a deep state of depression.
